The Psychology of Eating
Join us for a unique event in which we take you through a journey of Understanding the science and psychology behind eating!
Through this practical workshop and talk, we shall explore the following:
1. How Taste Works: from the Tongue to the Brain.
2. Why Some Foods Feel So Good.
3. Tasty vs Healthy: Why We Crave Unhealthy Foods
4. More Than Just Taste- Wellbeing and social connection – What role does food play in our well- being and connection?
5. Responsible pleasure and mindful eating.
For the first 30 minutes, we will delve into these questions, with our guest Dr. Bhuvan- a sensory experience backed by Scientific research.
Dr. Bhuvan will use Food samples (for sensory pleasure and experience) – small pieces of sweet, sour, and bitter foods to experience brain reactions firsthand and show you how taste signals travel from tongue to brain by using visuals / brain scans.
We will then have a vegetarian dinner and continue the conversation through te evening.

About the speaker:
Dr Bhuvan is a brain scientist based in Canada. Across 8 countries in 5 continents, he has worked on the nature of perception, consciousness and wellness.
With a PhD in Cognitive Science and Consciousness Studies, Dr Bhuvan’s research explores how the brain transforms sensory information into meaningful experiences.
