Every year at Diwali, our hosts prepare magical moments for the guests who want to experience Diwali like a family. For people who live far off from their loved ones, and for people who want to experience what an authentic Diwali celebration in an Indian home is like.
Join our host, Shuchita, for an authentic cultural experience of Diwali in her home with her family and friends.
Through the evening, you will engage in all those activities that are an integral part of Diwali celebrations in everyhome, including, making the rangoli, offering prayers, lighting diyas, and enjoying a lovely meal.
On the menu:
ROUND 1 MENU
Matra tikki – A bit different from the aloo tikki chaat, this version comes from the eastern side of India, in the Chaat is made using white peas instead of chickpeas, totally changing its flavor profile
Bhalla papdi – the qintessential indian street food, Bhalla papdi chaat which combines the best of spicy, sweet and sour flavors
Dhokla – a gujarati snack, with spongy texture made of chickpea flour
Dry fruits katli – home made roasted dryfruits delight
Lemon cake – Shuchita’s special lemon cake that she serves her guests on Diwali
The food and conversations will be followd by Pooja (a religious ceremony) and making rangoli together and lighting diyas
We will proceed towards the second half of the evening with some more delicious food. A table laid out with some delicious home made dishes, conversations.
ROUND 2 MENU
Bedmi aloo- A special kind of bread made with a filling of lentils and fried in hot oil, served with spicy potato curry
chunki matar – a special dish of peas served along with the Bedmi Aloo poori
Rabri gulab jamun – The most delicious combination of the famous gulab jamun along with Rabri which is shortened milk, sweetened and flavored with cardamom and dryfruits.
Time – 4 PM onwards (until 10 PM)
