Conversations Over Chai: South Asian Art in Focus
A Tasty Talks C-O-N-N-E-C-T Experience in collaboration With SAC Art, Amsterdam
As part of our C-O-N-N-E-C-T series, Tasty Talks invites you to an afternoon of intentional dialogue and quiet presence — over chai, art, and community — in the heart of Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands, at the South Asian Contemporary Art Gallery.
In this unique event, we will have tête-à-tête with the founder of SAC Art Amsterdam, Tasneem, explore her gallery and carefully curated art works, and delve into conversations about art from South Asia in the company of like minded people, some delicious snacks and Chai.
But why Chai?
We decided to ditch wine and embrace the quintessential South Asian Chai. 🙂
Just a short stroll from the vibrant SAIL 2025 waterfront, this intimate event takes place inside a contemporary art gallery and centers around the current exhibition:
“My Veins Don’t End in Me”
featuring works by Amina Ahmed, Aditi Singh, Tanuja Rane, and Varunika Saraf.
Together, we will:
-
Explore the exhibition through a guided walk-through
-
Hear personal reflections of Tasneem on curating and collecting South Asian contemporary art
-
Learn about the artists’ practices and processes
-
Engage in open dialogue about building meaningful art collections
-
Connect with others over cups of chai and light, Indian refreshments/ snacks
This isn’t just an art talk — it’s a space to slow down, listen closely, and be fully present.
AFTER THE EVENT – Since the event venue is close to the SAIL festival, you can also club it with a visit to the festival (just 5 mins walk from where we will be. Maybe we can all go together!)
Price – 20 Euros
