Baisakhi/Vaisakhi celebrated with great fervour in Hindu-sikh communities in punjab marks important events in the history of this region. Vaisakhi is significant as the day of the founding of Sikh community, called khalsa. Farmers of the region also celebrate vaisakhi to thank god for a plentiful harvest and pray for a good harvest in the coming year.
