We are very proud to showcase yet another native cuisine on our platofrm through a partnership with Hala’s nook! Hala, who comes from Sudan is all set to take you to her homeland through this new and undiscovered cuisine.

“Join me on a nostalgic journey through the flavours and memories of Sudan.
This experience is not just an introduction to Sudanese cuisine, it is an invitation into my own memories: of a Sudan that lives in peace, colour, joy, and community, far beyond the news headlines and what is often shown in the media. Each of the five courses is inspired by a moment, a place, or a feeling from my time living in Sudan. Through taste, scent, sound, texture, and visuals, I hope to bring you into that world; not as a distant observer, but as someone who gets to experience the joyful Sudan I know.
Expect new surprises for your palate, flavour combinations and ingredients you may not have met before; all rooted in authentic Sudanese dishes with a personal twist.
Reimagined in modern, soulful ways and crafted with care to engage all five senses.
This is a plant-forward menu and an intimate, sensory experience. Alongside the food and short films, there will be space for reflection and connection, and a chance to talk about home, nostalgia, and joy.
And if you would like, you are warmly invited to share your own stories, flavours, and memories; the ones that remind you of where you come from, and connect with others through that shared sense of belonging ”
Like every Tasty Talks experience, this too goes beyond food, with food acting as the focal point of genuine connections, story-telling, and a shared feeling of love for native cuisines of the world.
What is on the menu? A slight reveal, because we want the experience to be a surprise for you!
– A playful amuse-bouche inspired by Sudanese street snacks
– Grilled aubergine with smoky peanut-tomato sauce and warm bread
– A hearty stuffed pumpkin with beans, pickles, greens & cashew cream
– A dessert of sorbet, biscuit crumble & fenugreek pudding
– A sweet mignardise with Sudanese cookies filled with Sudanese flavours
– & a few surprises on the way…
